Music Director Courtney Lewis and the Symphony open the season with a major new commission: an organ concerto by award-winning composer Lowell Liebermann, performed by Paul Jacobs, the first organist ever to win a GRAMMY®. Expressive melodies, lush orchestrations and virtuosity are hallmarks of Liebermann’s music. The evening opens by highlighting Beethoven’s masterful musical storytelling in Leonore Overture No. 2 and concludes with Schumann’s cheerful Second Symphony.
