Iconic indie rock band Shannon & The Clams performs at the WJCT Soundstage as part of the Jacksonville Music Experience’s Soundstage Series with support from Austin indie band Being Dead and local shoegaze act Siichaq. Led by singer-songwriter and bassist Shannon Shaw, the Oakland-bred group is beloved for fusing feel-good doo-wop, R&B, garage rock, and other retro sounds. The group’s seventh studio album, 2024’s The Moon is in the Wrong Place (produced by longtime collaborator, the Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach) spent weeks at the top of the college radio charts, and earned praise from Paste Magazine, Spin and more. The band’s new album made JME’s list of best records of the year. Read more here. Shannon & The Clams is recommended if you like indie rock with great harmonies from bands like La Luz, Black Lips, and Allah-Las.

Shannon & the Clams are on tour with Being Dead, the Austin-based multi-instrumentalist duo, whose new album, EELS, which also made our list of best records of the year, is a borderline-Psilocybin dose of melodious, enjoyably madcap freak folk, featuring hauntingly retro harmonies, primal beats and playful instrumentation.

Opening the show is Jax-based grunge/shoegaze group Siichaq. The band’s single, “Shame,” from their 2024 debut, My Dog Ate My Patriotism, made JME’s list of best local songs of the year.
